Inhoud
In the first year you have been introduced to projects and lab work in groups, for example during the 1st year project " From mono-ester to polyester" and the course Spectroscopy and Analysis. In these and other courses you have practiced laboratory skills, maintaining a lab journal and written reports. Your practical training will be continued and expanded in the 2nd year Research Project. In this project, you get the opportunity to give direction to your practical training and get to know one of the sub disciplines of chemistry. Moreover, you will improve your writing skills by writing your report in the form of an article.

Brief course content:
• The projects are carried out by groups of 2 to 4 students.
• The Research Project is carried out in the research groups of the department of Chemistry.
• Each student writes a report in the form of a scientific article.
• An online Academic Writing course helps you to write and structure a scientific article.
• Each group prepares a poster for a mini-symposium at the end of the course.

Placement:
Placement for the Research Project course is based on a random selection, taking into account your project preferences and, if the project requires it, whether you have taken the recommended courses for your particular project of choice. See the course manual for further details.
N.B.: please note that if you also register for the other Research Project course, that you will be considered for only one of the two, namely the course with no or with the least amount of overbooking.
