Course goals
1.    You will acquire knowledge for understanding and judgement of research articles in the various areas of the molecular life sciences.
2.    You will get an overview on the available methods to characterize biomolecules and the interactions between them, in the test tube and inside living cells.
Content
Skills
The lingua franca in this course is English. You will acquire skills due to reading of and working with scientific literature, scientific discussions and written and oral presentations. The main focus of molecular life sciences is on the functioning of molecules in biological processes. There is particular attention to studying structure, function, dynamics, intracellular localization and molecular interactions by application of modern chemical and biological methods. The molecular life sciences provide the key for the molecular knowledge of life. They are crucial to influence unwanted biological processes and for the development of new drugs.

The course is intended for MSc students of Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences to supplement their knowledge.
