Description of content

In this short lecture series a brief overview will be provided of computational and biophysical techniques capable of imaging biomolecules in the cell and/or in atomic detail. Each lecture will cover one of the following techniques: super-resolution microscopy, cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), X-ray crystallography, and computational structural biology (a.k.a. molecular docking).
During the course you will make an individual assignment.
No prior knowledge on any of the techniques is assumed. Successful completion of this course is one of the ways to fulfil the entry requirements for the Master Course Biophysics and Molecular Imaging (SK-BMBMI).

Literature/study material used:

Mandatory for students in Master’s programme: NO.
Optional for students in other Master’s programmes GS-LS: YES
