Using material evidence provided by Roman history, this course focusses on recent trends and methodologies in the study of the ancient Roman world, with special emphasis on how, in this particular field, questions are typically framed, on the way methodologies are employed, and on how results are reached. Students acquire a good working knowledge of the current topics and approaches in Roman history and learn how to position themselves vis-a-vis these developments.
