Course goals
At the end of this course, you will:
  1. have insight in the translation from problem to research question;
  2. have insight in the translation from research question to study design;
  3. have insight in the application of different study designs in practice, including data collection and analysis;
  4. be able to present and discuss research proposals, including the relevance and societal impact;
  5. be able to write a research proposal.

Course description:
Research training starts with the formulation of a research question and the design of a study. Research proposals are presented and discussed in a seminar with fellow participants, PhD students and senior staff members. Students hand in their final research proposal. In the second year students present a poster at the seminar.
