Course goals
After following this course, the student:
  1. Is able to perform a search for specific literature, is able to read research articles,
  2. Is able to prepare, give and defend a short scientific presentation,
  3. And can give a critical appraisal of literature and presentations,
  4. Knows the basics and principles underlying cardiovascular regeneration
  5. Is able to describe: the role of stem cells in development and maintenance of specialized cardiovascular tissues, clinical applications of cardiovascular RM.

Description of content
This cardiovascular course will be quite interactive. Lectures will be given by experts in the field of cardiac, vascular and renal regeneration. After the expert lectures, the students work together in groups and assignments which will result in presentations; students will prepare an assignment on a specific topic related with cardiovascular RM, e.g. developmental biology, clinical application of RM research, cell transplantation versus paracrine factors, read outs for successful RM: experimental and clinical.
