How to present your research findings to a diverse audience
Presentations
During the first year of the Science and Business management (SBM) master, two interdisciplinary meetings take place. During these meetings all students present their research and results to a broad audience. SBM students have varying backgrounds, but must be able to present their research and results at an academic level to an educated but diverse audience. This is an important skill in academia but also in an industrial or business environment.
The SBM group can meet, and learn from other research topics with emphasis on application of research. Students learn presentation techniques from a small online module.
In addition to the presentations, students have to take part in three workshops aimed at career path development.
Interview
The students interview a person from the industry or governmental organisation about the relevance for the research project at hand to industry or society. The outcome of the interview is handed in as paper.
Grade is based on the presentations and interview. (80:20)
Workshop participation is mandatory
Mandatory for students in Master’s programme: YES.
Optional for students in other Master’s programmes GS-LS:NO
