This unique and interactive course is offered by top researchers in the field of Clinical Child, Family and Education Studies at Utrecht University from the Child and Adolescent Studies (CAS) and Education and Learning (EL) groups. In a series of 5 symposia, organized in a form used at most scientific conferences, recent research findings regarding children, adolescents, education and learning will be presented by senior members of CAS and EL as well as by junior members who are currently performing their research projects at Utrecht University. 
This course provides you with new and actual insights into the above mentioned fields and involves you in  the discussion about the transnational potential of their use in practice. The assignments concern writing in a short form that can easily be used in practice when you want to become up to date in an efficient way and short time, regarding a specific question. You will be asked to write CAT’s (Critically Appraised Topics) in relation to the offered symposia. 


Learning objectives:

Understanding of the key current issues studied at Utrecht university in this field; focus on transnational comparisons; ability to form a scientifically responsible opinion in complex and/or relatively unknown situations in the field; Learn how to write a CAT; acquire an honest and critical attitude concerning research projects and results; and a respectful, responsible, culturally sensitive, professional and customer-oriented attitude towards students, colleagues, respondents, clients, etc.
