During the internship students have to get acquainted with various steps in doing research, as well as with the daily routines and workings of a research group. The internship is carried out under supervision of an internship supervisor, and the specific activities of the internship will be determined together with him or her. In general the course consists of 6 elements:
- Individual meetings with internship supervisor
- Writing the internship plan
- Getting hands-on experience with doing scientific research
- Getting acquainted with what it is like to be part of a research group
- Group meetings
- Writing the internship report
After the internship, students should have practiced to:
- Collaborate in a research team and cooperate with colleagues
- Individually plan work
- Critically reflect upon their own functioning as a researcher within the team
- Reporting clearly, completely, and concise
- Collect and/or process data (data entry, scale construction, development of code book, analyzing data.
- Present about activities (orally and written)
