A core survey course that presents genealogies of the key concepts, theories, intellectual currents and historical moments that have shaped the Arts and Society discourse in the contemporary world. In weekly seminars, students engage with these topics while honing their skills. Topics to be covered include: the Frankfurt School, postmodernism, subjectivity and identity, globalization and neoliberalism, postcoloniality and media convergence culture.
Career orientation:
Gain insight in the current events and debates in the working field. Visits to performances, art manifestations and conferences.
