Students who pass this course:

In this course a broad selection of primary texts across a range of Medieval Irish genres will be read and interpreted. Relevant articles from the secondary literature dealing with a range of literary genres will also be read and evaluated. In addition to reading Medieval Irish texts, the course will also deal with the question of textual edition and edition production in Medieval Irish and will discuss and evaluate the current practices for creating such editions which exist in the field.
