The seminar will be a devoted to one or more fundamental and recurring themes in art and the historiography of art from the middle ages to the modern period, with special reference to the Low Countries. This year, the theme will be art of the Low Countries in a global perspective, with special reference to the artistic exchange with Italy during the 15th-17th centuries; Dutch art at the time of the maritime expansion (17th-19th centuries); and the global art world of the 20th-21st centuries.
Please note that the examination of this course will be:
Active participation (presentation, chairing discussion) (30 %)
Oral presentation; research paper based on the oral presentation (together 70%)
