Inhoud
Within behavioral research, we are often interested in variables which cannot be directly measured. Therefore, we use questionnaires or tests with multiple items when we gather our data in surveys or experiments. In order to determine whether these instruments measure one or multiple aspects (or factors), we can conduct a factor analyses. These analyses are also important in building our theories. For instance, human personality is something which can not be measured nor described easily. Using factor analyses, psychologists came to a description of personality with five factors: the "Big Five" factors openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism.
This behavioral sciences module is recommended for students with an interest in different areas of psychology and cognitive sciences and will equip students to understand, evaluate and conduct factor analysis and to critically read related research articles.

Schedule:
This course is taught during the last five weeks of the semester. It uses the same timeslot as the UCACCMET23 group did during the first ten weeks.
